The DCI is investigating Kaguchia over alleged hate speech and inflammatory remarks. During a political rally in Kieni, Nyeri County, he reportedly warned Mount Kenya residents in his native Kikuyu language of dire consequences if they vote for President William Ruto in the upcoming 2027 General Election, claiming voters would be “smoked out” of their homes. Kaguchia has defended himself, claiming the government twisted his remarks to intimidate him.
