Overview

Introducing DJI’s Mavic 3 drone, the newest top-tier consumer drone. With a maximum flight time of 46 minutes (in no wind conditions) and a maximum of 40 minutes of hover time (also in no wind weather), this drone provides 10 more minutes of operation compared to it’s predecessor, Mavic 2 Pro. This drone also has a maximum ascent speed of 8 m/s in S mode and 6 m/s in P mode as well as a max descent speed of 6 m/s in P mode. When near the sea level and with no wind too, Mavic 3 can achieve a max flight speed of 21 m/s in S mode.

A special feature of this drone is it’s dual camera system, the Hasselblad L2D-20C aerial camera. The main camera is a wide-angle 20MP system with a 4/3 CMOS sensor and 24mm prime lens with an 84-degree FOV, 24mm format (35mm equivalent), and an f/2.8-f/11 aperture. It’s focus range being from one meter and can capture 12-bit Raw files. The second one is a 12MP telephoto camera with a 1/2-inch CMOS sensor that has a 15-degree FOV, 160mm format (35mm equivalent), and an f/4.4 aperture, with it’s focus range starting at 3m. When combined, both lenses can offer a 28x hybrid (optical + digital) zoom function. For video recording, the Mavic 3 can record up to 5.1K of video resolution at 50fps and 4K at up to 120fps as well as 1080p up to 200fps in either H.264 or H.265 in 10-bit.

With the wide-angle camera, you can choose to utilise either an electronic or mechanic shutter. The telephoto camera can only be used in search mode. Once the search mode is enabled, the camera zoom will exceed 7x and the Mavic 3 will automatically switch to the telephoto camera. Additionally, this drone uses Hasselblad’s Natural Colour Solution (HNCS) technology and DJI engineering to enable it capture up to 1 billion colors using the 10-bit D-log color profile.

It’s omnidirectional obstacle sensors have been improved to a maximum 200m range.
